The main differences between bonded neodymium iron boron and sintered neodymium iron boron are production process, physical properties, application areas, as well as cost and price. 12 Production process: Bonded neodymium iron boron is made by mixing rapidly quenched NdFeB magnetic powder and binder, and then by "pressing molding" or "injection molding". This type of magnet contains a binder, and its density is generally 80% of the theoretical density. In contrast, sintered neodymium iron boron adopts powder metallurgy process, which pulverizes the melted alloy and compresses it into a compact in a magnetic field, and then sinter it in inert gas or vacuum to achieve densification.
